My goal every year is to read 24 books. 12 audio & 12 by my bedside. I’m addicted to audiobooks and can’t go even one day without one! So interesting to discover a day in the life of a book narrator! I have a favorite narrator & try to listen to everything she reads (except most of the kid books). Her name is Jenna Lamia. She read Secret Life of Bee’s & had a part in The Help. I will say Tom Hanks reading The Dutch House is in my top three. The longest book I’ve listened to was Atlas Shrugged (about 60 hours & took me 6 months!). Thanks for this post on Tavia. I will be sure to read something read by her.

I listen to many audiobooks and it was fascinating to learn about Tavia’s process. While Tom Hanks did a great job narrating THe Dutch House, I think it’s almost always a mistake for authors to narrate their own books. A professional narrator makes the book come alive!
